At Ximedica, I contributed to the development of connected health devices including Gecko Health’s smart inhaler cap, later acquired by Teva Pharmaceuticals, which enabled patients and clinicians to track inhaler use and medication adherence through a Bluetooth-connected mobile app.

Key Contributions:

  • Developed mechanical architecture and enclosure designs to integrate sensors, RF electronics, and batteries within compact, user-friendly injection molded and silicone overmolded housings.

  • Collaborated closely with electrical engineering, industrial design, user research and human factors engineering teams to define requirements and resolve mechanical-electrical integration challenges.

  • Prototyped and tested units, balancing form, manufacturability, and robustness for consumer- and healthcare environment-use.

  • Designed V&V test protocols and fixturing and executed testing including for pull force, optical comparator dimension inspection, and cleaning and sterilization.

  • Supported design transfer by refining tolerances, selecting materials, and architecting assembly approaches for injection-molded components and sealing interfaces.
